Infigen independent chairman Len Gill said: "The board unanimously recommends security holders accept the cash takeover offer from Iberdrola at A$0. 92 per stapled security. " A rival takeover offer for Infigen from Philippines outfit UAC Energy closed on 24 July, with that company securing a 20% stake in the Australian company. On 29 July, UAC chairman Anton Rohner said: "Our takeover offer for Infigen was aimed at securing a material stake in Infigen. "The offer was not predicated on control, and was therefore not subject to a minimum acceptance condition. "We are pleased to have met our objective, and look forward to supporting Infigen's future growth. "

But while he said it would likely be difficult for a counter-bidder to emerge, JPMorgan analyst Mark Busuttil isn't ruling out a further competing offer, noting the Iberdrola bid values Infigen at $1889 per kilowatt of wind farm capacity, still a "slight discount" to the cost of building the majority of wind farms in Australia at $2000-$2500/kW. Infigen's share trading on Wednesday signalled some shareholders still hold out modest hope of a higher offer, rising 7. 3 per cent to 88¢. Infigen is now formally recommending investors reject the offer from UAC, which is not conditional on a minimum acceptance level. UAC, whose offer had been expected to draw a rival, said its considering its next step in the takeover battle. Iberdrola, which has more than 55 gigawatts of generation capacity, took its first significant step into Australia's growing renewables sector in January, committing to invest more than $500 million in a 320 megawatt hybrid solar and wind farm near Port Augusta in South Australia.

Australian renewable energy jobs surged to a new record in 2018-19, employing 26, 850 workers, but clouds loom on the horizon. Continued investment in renewable energy projects sees renewables sector deliver some of the strongest wages growth in Australia. Shorten unveils $75m Renewables Training Package, extends establishment of Renewable Energy Zones to Tasmania, where it makes down-payment on Battery of Nation.
It highlighted the "attractive" premium to Infigen's security price before the UAC bid, and noted Iberdrola's offer is less conditional than UAC's and is not subject to due diligence. Infigen also noted that Iberdrola would provide an unsecured loan to Infigen to cover its corporate debt facility if that needs to be repaid ahead of any takeover. Infigen chairman Len Gill early this month raised concerns about UAC's ability to refinance Infigen's debt if required. Infigen has agreed to "no shop, no talk" conditions and would pay a break fee of 1 per cent of its value, or about $8. 4 million, in certain circumstances if the deal doesn't proceed.

This was an interesting company. Although, there was not a great training program offered for my position, which made it difficult to learn about the company. However, I took it upon myself to ask the right people the right questions to learn what I didn't know. I sat in on management committee meetings, which required minutes and that was another way I learned about the company. The atmosphere was usually pleasant, but very departmentalized. I felt it could've been more cohesiveness among the various departments. It was very "clickish". I got to interact with the Plant Managers out in the field and that was great, being able to talk to people from all over the country, since we were the corporate office. Pros Pretty laxed environment, as long as responsibilities were met. Plant Manager (Former Employee) - Rosce Texas - November 23, 2015 great group of colleagues. Safety is top priority excellent benefits the most enjoyable part of the job was the people and the day challenges. Fun work place with supportive management.
